From 16.00h till 19.00h the pre-registration and an informal welcome reception will be held in the Doelen café, which is located around the corner of conference centre “De Doelen”, at the Schouwburgplein.

 

All days

Each morning there will be a technical hour from 07.30h till 08.15h and during the lunches to upload your PowerPoint file in the lecture room where you give your presentation. If you have movie files please burn them on DVD and send them to the conference secretariat before May 22 (Ms G. van der Windt, TU Delft, Kluyverweg 1, 2629 HS Delft, The Netherlands).

The conference will start at 08.30h.

At 12.15h. busses will transport you in 2 or 3 shifts from De Doelen to the jetty of the Spido boat service for the excursion to Stork Fokker in Papendrecht. The departure time of the boat will be 13.00h. Lunch will be served on board. The expected return time is 18.00h.

The symposium will start at 08.30h with the Plantema Memorial Lecture.

At 17.30h we will walk to the Town Hall, for the reception by the City of Rotterdam. The walking time is approximately 10 minutes.

 

Partners programme on Wednesday, 27 May 2009

The partners programme will encompass a trip to the historical centre of Delft. The group will leave from De Doelen at 09.30h and return in time to join the walk to the Town Hall for the reception at 17.30h. Please register at the conference secretariat (info@icaf2009.nl).

 

Thursday, 28 May 2009

The symposium will start at 08.30h.

At 18.30h busses will transport you in 2 or 3 shifts from De Doelen to Blijdorp Zoo for the symposium dinner, which will start at 19.00h and end at approximately 23.00h.

 

Friday, 29 May 2009

The symposium will start at 08.30h with the presentation of the Jaap Schijve Award and a series of workshops. The symposium will close at 17.00h.

Breaks

All coffee and tea breaks and lunches will take place in the foyer of the Jurriaanse Zaal of De Doelen.

Exhibition booths of commercial companies will be present in the foyer of the Jurriaanse zaal in De Doelen.

 

Poster session

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday poster presentations will be held during the morning and afternoon breaks. All poster presenters are invited to be present at their own poster during these sessions.


Internet access
Complimentary WIFI internet access is provided in the foyer of the Jurriaanse zaal of de Doelen. Please note that the number of simultaneous connections is limited to 20.
 

Public Transport

Weather & Climate

In May the weather in the Netherlands can be warm and sunny (16-21 degrees Celsius is average for the time of year). However, our sea-climate entails variable weather conditions, so be prepared for the occasional drop of rain.

 

Currency

The local currency is Euro (divided into 100 cents). International credit cards are accepted all over the Netherlands in department stores, museums and most shops.

All major credit cards are accepted in most stores, hotels and restaurants.

 

Health regulations

No vaccinations are required when entering the Netherlands from any other country.
